A number of 1,155 of the new cases of the last week are in reinfected patients, testing positively more than 90 days after the first infection/another re -infection, Agerpres reports.

According to IEP, 16 deaths were reported to people infected with Covid-19, 14 of them presenting comorbidities.

During the same period, 435 RT-PCR tests and 14,000 fast antigenic tests were performed.

The rate of positivity was 33.6%, decreasing by 1% compared to the previous week.

The new figures come in the context in which the number of cases of Covid-19 has increased alarmingly in the first week of September.

“The Covid-19 report published for the first week of September (1-7 September) comes with an unpleasant surprise: the resumption of accelerated growth that seemed to have been touched last week. The growth was 30%, compared to the previous week when it was only 3.4%. Plateau registered at the end of August to be maintained in September, as was the profile of the wave of 2024 (with purple in the attached chart) ”said the epidemiologist Octavian Jurma.
