Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu presented, at the Emergency Council meeting of the UN, Romania’s position on national security interests, in the context of Russia’s repeated challenges.

Oana Țoiu firmly condemned the violations “Irresponsible” of the European airspace by Russia, mentioning that, after recent incidents in Romania and Poland, this time Estonia was affected.
“Such challenges undermine international peace and security and flagrantly ignore the sovereignty of states and international law.” said the minister.
Romania has reaffirmed its full solidarity with Estonia, as well as with its allies and partners, in the defense of sovereignty, territorial integrity and UN Charter principles.
The UN Security Council Emergency Meeting highlights that both the region and the international community reject the Russia’s war of aggression and oppose the continuous non -compliance with the provisions of the UN Charter.
The Romanian Minister emphasized the need for solid mechanisms of early warning, with the participation of countries in the region, NATO and the European Union, from the Black Sea to the Baltic Sea.
“In the face of repeated challenges of Russia, solid alert mechanisms are required, with the participation of countries in the region, NATO and the EU, from the Black Sea to the Baltic Sea. Oana Țoiu said.
“In the interest of peace and security, the moment to put an end to the aggression and challenge pattern is now”, Oana Țoiu said.
