Who are those replaced from positions
In the case of SRTv and SRR, the mandates of the current management expire on November 15. At the moment, Dan Cristian Turturică is in charge of TVR, and Răzvan Dincă is in charge of SRR. Dan Turturică has been head of TVR since November 2021, when he obtained the position also being supported by the PNL. According to the law, the mandate of the head of TVR is 4 years.
Răzvan Dincă (SRR) declared an income worth 273,135 lei from the position in the last fiscal year, while Dan Cristian Turturică (TVR) declared that he earned 220,348 lei.
In the case of AEP, the position remained vacant for more than 8 months, after the dismissal of former president Toni Greblă, at the beginning of the year, on February 28. His dismissal came after the start of the presidential elections, so the conduct of the two polls was ensured by the vice-president Zsobor Vajda who led the institution from the interim position all this time.
The new candidates
The shortlist for the positions includes several names of former parliamentarians of the ruling parties. Among them is Adriana Săftoiu, who, according to “Adevărul” information, would take over the position of head of TVR. Săftoiu was a PNL deputy between 2004-2008 and 2016-2020. She also held the position of presidential adviser and spokesperson for the former president of Romania, Traian Băsescu.
Some voices claim that Dan Turturică is also supported for another mandate at the head of public television.
The former liberal senator Vlad Pufu is circulated by the liberals for a position in the CA of SRTv. As in the case of political science teacher Radu Carp. He is currently a professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Bucharest, where he is also a member of the Department of Public Policies, International Relations and Security Studies. Radu Carp was also a member of the Board of Directors (CA) of SRTv.
Liviu Popescu, supported by the USR, is in charge of the SRR. He also led the position on an interim basis in 2021, also with the support of the USR.
In the case of AEP, the one who submitted his candidacy file is Adrian Țuțuianu, who until now worked in the General Secretariat of the Government. “At the proposal of the Social Democratic Party and after some personal reflection, I submitted my candidacy file for the position of president of the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP). According to the law, the president of the AEP cannot be a member of a political party, which is why I submitted my resignation from the PSD on Thursday”announced Ţuţuianu, on Sunday, on Facebook.
