In Elon Musk’s vision, in the future we will no longer need jobs or money, and poverty will disappear.

Present on Monday at the US-Saudi Arabia Investment Forum, where he participated with Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, Musk said that the money will “cease to be relevant” thanks to artificial intelligence, writes Business Insider.
“There will still be resource limitations such as electricity and matter”he said. “But I think at some point the currency becomes irrelevant.”
He referred to the books of science fiction writer Iain Banks, author of the Culture series (1987–2012), which, in his view, “provides a picture of what a positive future of artificial intelligence might look like.”
Musk also talked about the demise of work in its current form, stating that it will become “optional”same as “playing sports or a video game”.
He compared the future of work to gardening. “It’s a lot harder to grow vegetables in your own backyard, but some people still do it because they love it”he said. “So will work: optional.”
In recent months, Musk has shared his vision of an AI-dominated future, including eradicating poverty — a topic he touched on in a recent meeting with investors.
“People often talk about eradicating poverty, about providing great healthcare to everyone”Musk said at the shareholder event earlier this month. “There’s actually only one way to do that, and that’s the Optimus robot.”
According to Musk, when artificial intelligence and robots, like Tesla’s Optimus, completely eliminate work and money, the government should grant a universal income.
And not just a universal basic income, but a high universal income, he argues.
“In a favorable scenario, we will have a high universal income”Musk explained. “Anyone will be able to have any product or service they want. But there will be a lot of trauma and disruption along the way.”
