The singer Andrei Bănuță opened his soul in front of his admirers, at a concert, and conveyed a message about the true wealth of the Holidays, beyond expensive gifts and lavish meals. The artist told an incident from his childhood, when he was disappointed by gifts, and made a parallel with the present, when financially he has much more, but he lacks the one who gave him life. The footage was uploaded to social media, and in the description he wrote: “I leave it here for the times when you feel poor, hoping to remind you of the correct unit of measure for happiness.”
What Andrei Bănuța told
The 26-year-old singer told those present at the concert a “story to wake up the adults”, as he calls it.
“I was about six years old and I really wanted a black car. A black with red, big, beautiful, toy car. At that time, about 300 lei. Expensive for us.
I waited every day for Santa to come. On the 25th, when I went to look under the tree, I found many things, but I did not find that little car. I found sweets, I found some socks, which my parents had also taken from me. And then I went to my mother and told her she was a bad mother for not giving my letter to Santa Claus. I had been good and I deserved that car. I scolded her quite hard then.
Now, back to the present, I’m 26 years old and this year has been the best year of my life. I’ve never had it as good as it is now: I’ve had gigs after gigs, I’ve made money and this year I managed to get that black and red car, exactly as it was. And it’s not a toy. And it’s cool, and it’s from my work. But I’d give this car ten times over for a cell phone plan that could transmit up to the sky, out of this world, so I could apologize for scolding my mother back then. Let me ask her for forgiveness.”
“If you have a person in this world who thinks at least once a day if you have eaten, if you are well, if you need something, you are rich!”
Before Christmas, the artist wants to send a message to everyone about what he has learned that true wealth is:
“This coming holiday is not about wealth, it’s not about having a lot of things on the table or this black and red car that’s cool as hell. But I have one less man to ride with. So is the table, it’s nothing rich if you’re alone at it.
If you have healthy parents you are rich! If you have a healthy parent, you are rich! If you have healthy children you are rich! If you have a man in this world who matters to you and you to him and thinks at least once a day if you have eaten, if you are well, if you need something, you are rich! Away from that black car with red and away from all the things we want without really knowing how much we have at the time we have it.” said Andrei Bănuță in the video published on Facebook.
The story behind the success
Andrei Bănuță is now a successful singer, but life was not easy for him and he learned the meaning of pain from an early age. When he was 6 years old, he lost his older brother, who until then had been bedridden. And at 15, the one who gave her life died, after a three-year battle with cancer. Andrei told in several interviews that he was the one who accompanied her to hospitals, for treatment. Even though she is no longer here physically, the young man carries on the memory of his mother.
