“I asked for my resignation.” Alina Gorghiu requests evidence after the prefect of Argeș allegedly jumped the line at the UPU: “Tell the truth”

Argeş PNL deputy, Alina Gorghiu, requests the Argeş Prefecture to make public the documents that confirm that the prefect Ioana Făcăleaţă was at the Emergency Reception Unit (UPU) of the Pitesti County Hospital for the purpose of control, not for medical consultation, after she was accused of jumping “over the line”.

“For two days, I have been learning from some colleagues from PSD Argeș that it is anyone’s fault, less the Prefecture led by PSD, for the shame of the accident and the abuse of the position in the Emergency Department. I recommend them to stop the attacks and tell the truth”Gorghiu conveyed, through a message published on Facebook.

The PNL deputy claims that, recently, there have been allegations that PNL representatives were involved in the incidents at the UPU.

“There is only one reality: PNL was not in the Emergency at 11:00 p.m., did not jump the line in front of patients with serious emergencies and did not scream at people in distress. All these facts belong to prefect Ioana Făcăleață”. Gorghiu added.

She states that she publicly reported the alleged abuse, requested the prefect’s resignation and submitted two official requests, based on Law 544/2001 – one to the Prefecture and the other to the hospital. Gorghiu states that, if the Argeș Prefecture “he has nothing to hide”the institution should respond with documents, not political attacks.

“As public figures, I did something elementary and correct: I publicly reported the abuse in public office, along with many others; I asked for my resignation; I submitted two official requests based on Law 544/2001 – one to the Prefecture, one to the Hospital. If the Argeș Prefecture, an institution led by PSD Argeș, has nothing to hide, let it respond today, with documents, not with an attacki”, Gorghiu also said.

The incident took place on January 6, when the prefect Ioana Făcăleață was accused by the patients of having entered the consultation “across the line”.

The prefect rejected the accusations, claiming that the purpose of the visit was to check the waiting time at the UPU, as a result of reports received from citizens.

“I received complaints from citizens about the long waiting time at the UPU, which is why I went last night to check what the situation was. The waiting room was very crowded, and there were only two doctors in the UPU, one of whom was in the middle of a resuscitation procedure for a patient, and the other was dealing with another emergency. I talked to the medical staff and the hospital manager about the flow of the Emergency Department and the measures that can be taken. Next, the medical staff at the UPU is insufficient, despite the management’s efforts to hire new paramedics. In addition, the Pitesti County Hospital takes over all serious emergencies from Argeș County, as well as from other counties. When I returned to the hall where the people were waiting, some of them became agitated and shouted insults“, explained Ioana Făcăleaţă.
