FCSB successfully passed one of the toughest tests of this period, defeating Oțelul 4-1, on the field of a team known to be formidable at home. The champion woke up and moved closer to the play-off places thanks to the success in Galați.
The hosts opened the scoring through Zhelev in the 25th minute, but FCSB turned the score around thanks to Daniel Bîrligea, who scored twice before the break, just when his team needed him the most. The red-blues then took advantage of the elimination of Zivulic (54) and scored twice more, through Olaru (66) and Tănase (79).
Following this result, the champion accumulated 40 points, with which she climbed to the 8th position. A passionate fight for access to the play-off is announced, with FC Argeș (43 points), FC Botoșani and U Cluj (42 each), CFR Cluj (41), FCSB (40), UTA (38) and Oțelul (37) fighting for the 3 available places, while Craiova, Rapid (49 each) and Dinamo (48) are at an appreciable distance.
For FCSB, there are two meetings over the course of three days with the University of Craiova, the leader in the Superliga. The first, in the Romanian Cup, the second, in the championship, after which they travel to Arad and meet Cluj University at home, two of the contenders for the play-off qualification.
