Petrișor Peiu, the president of the National Leadership Council of the AUR, said on Wednesday, March 25, that there are no discussions in the party regarding a possible government with the coalition parties, “neither with the PNL nor with the PSD”.
“We have no discussion related to governance or parliamentary support of a government with any of the parties in the coalition, neither with the PNL nor with the PSD. There is no discussion, nor did George Simion speak with Ilie Bolojan, nor did I discuss with any representative of the PNL on this topic”Peiu told G4Media.
He claimed that the information on such agreements are messages launched by the PSD in the context of the conflict with the PNL.
PSD deputy Marius Budai declared, this week, that there is a “underground understanding” between Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and the AUR, citing both the votes in the Parliament and public statements of some representatives of the formation.
“It was difficult for me to understand why AUR played the games of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan when he blocked in Parliament the PSD amendments to the Budget Law regarding support for seniors with low incomes, for children from poor families and for children with disabilities! But, after the transcripts from the internal meeting of the PNL, everything becomes clear.
Mr. Bolojan’s refusal to submit to a vote in the PNL a delimitation of AUR clearly shows us that there is an underground understanding. Not necessarily between PNL and AUR, but especially between Bolojan and AUR. It seems incredible, doesn’t it?”, Budai wrote on Facebook on Tuesday, March 24.
The Social Democrats are discussing several options for the period after April 20.
One of them is the restoration of the coalition with PNL and UDMR, possibly even with USR, but without Ilie Bolojan as prime minister. PSD clearly excludes the continuation of the government with Bolojan at the Victoria Palace. But PNL and USR have already ruled out the continuation of the government with PSD if the social democrats slam the Government.
Another option is entering the opposition, if the Bolojan camp prevails in the PNL and a right-wing pole takes shape alongside the USR. Although the PSD leadership rejects an alliance with AUR, some local leaders do not completely rule out this option.
