Romanian students won the first 4 places at the World Robotics Championship. Nicușor Dan: “Romania is proud of you”

President Nicușor Dan congratulated, on Sunday evening, the students from the national robotics team, for their success in the World Championship “FIRST Tech Challenge”held in Houston, USA.

“Congratulations to the Romanian students from the national robotics team who participated in the “FIRST Tech Challenge” World Championship in Houston, USA, and won the first four places of this prestigious international competition”Nicușor Dan sent on his Facebook page.

The head of state was impressed by “energy” and “creativity” students from the national robotics team.

“I met some of them in April, when they were in the training camp at the Western University of Timișoara, and I was impressed by their energy and creativity”stated Nicușor Dan.

According to him, the Velocity team from the High School “Gheorghe Munteanu Murgoci” from Brăila won the World Championship “FIRST Tech Challenge”.

Also the Heart of RoBots team, from the National College “BP Hasdeu” from Buzău, won the second place, the Quantum Robotics team, from the International High School of Informatics in Bucharest, got the third place, and the fourth place was occupied by the AiCitizens team, from the National College “Al. I. Cuza” from Focșani.

The FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship in Houston, part of the global FIRST Championship event, is the final stage of an international robotics program for middle and high school students, where teams design, build and program robots for head-to-head alliance competition.

The event annually brings together more than 300 teams from around the world, qualified through local and regional stages, and takes place at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, USA.
