The executive president of the Humanist Social Liberal Party, Cristian Popescu-Piedone, announced that he will open the list of PUSL candidates for the European Parliament elections. Also, several candidates from the sectors in Bucharest were announced.

The PSUL representative stated that he will run for both the European Parliament elections and the Capital City Hall. “Surely, if I am a locomotive, who should I put on? Do you put the dining car in front of the locomotive? Not. Put the locomotive. I will certainly be the first on the list at the European Parliament elections. Certainly, the Humanist Social Liberal Party is going alone, on its own lists, to the European Parliament elections. The negotiation with the parties has closed for me too“, he declared, on Sunday, in a press conference, when asked if on June 9 he will have a double candidacy, for the Capital City Hall and for the European Parliament elections, according to Agerpres.
Piedone added that, if “some famous name” from PUSL will be on the list of candidates for the European Parliament elections of another party, “he has to resign from PUSL and he never comes again”, alludes to Maria Grapini, currently PUSL MEP, but elected on the PSD lists, where an eligible seat was prepared for her, according to “Adevărul” information.
Certain candidates from PUSL in sectors 1, 3, 5 and 6
The Social Liberal Humanist Party has officially announced its candidates for the Bucharest City Hall and for the sector town halls.
Thus, Cristian Popescu Piedone was designated as a candidate for Bucharest City Hall. The current mayor of Sector 5 announced the candidates for the sector mayors and explained PUSL's strategy for the local elections.
“At Sector 1 – Liviu Negoiță. In Sector 2 we will not appoint a candidate yet, we are waiting to see the candidates of the other parties. In Sector 3, we propose Vasile Negrilă. In Sector 4 we have an alliance with PSD since 2020, still valid today, we support the current mayor, Daniel Băluță. Vlad Popescu Piedone will run for Sector 5, and Bogdan Pintileasa will run for Sector 6“, said Cristian Popescu Piedone, according to a press release.
“I was the mayor of Sector 3 for two terms, I know the administration of Bucharest, I love this city and I think it is the hardest period it is going through after the Revolution, with the mayor Nicușor Dan. I think that the people of Bucharest have a unique chance to change things, together with my colleague Cristian Popescu Piedone. After the people of Bucharest lost four years, they are looking for another candidate. We now have a chance to choose a professional. At Sector 1 imagine that it has five times the budget of Sector 5. But it still has streets without utilities today. I want to put Sector 1 back where it belongs. I don't like scandals and I know that the residents of Sector 1 have only had scandals. There are amazing people out there who deserve better“, pointed out Liviu Negoiță.
Vasile Negrilă, the PUSL candidate for the District 3 City Hall also comes from the local administration area. “My adventure in administration began with Cristian Popescu Piedone, the man to whom I owe everything I know in this field. I am a disciplined soldier and wherever I am sent I do my job to the best of my ability. I know what it means to work for the citizen and for the community, to be with them and respect their wishes. Today I am here because I want to win with Cristian Popescu Piedone“, stressed Vasile Negrilă.
Vlad Popescu Piedone spoke about the challenges that his candidacy brings and about the importance of continuing the projects started in Sector 5.We are a united and strong team, I am honored to have their support. The fight has become closer, there will be people who will try to divide us. But we have the citizens with us. Actions, not words! We don't promise, we do. The locomotive of the party, Cristian Popescu Piedone, showed us that only through work can we gain the trust of the citizens. The people are with us, let's not disappoint them and continue to make the impossible possible”said Vlad Popescu Piedone.
Disappointed with how things are going in Sector 6, Bogdan Pintileasa is convinced that he can change things for the better. “I entered this race because of the hypocrisy of those at the District 6 City Hall. I come, I promise a lot, but I only do half of the projects already started, nothing more. The “Favorit” cinema, the “Housing for young people” project are not ready even today. I trust that I can and I trust people“, said Bogdan Pintileasa.
