The President of the PNL, Nicolae Ciucă, said on Thursday that the version of the joint PNL-PSD lists for the local elections in the municipalities of Timişoara, Braşov and Bacău is under analysis and a decision will be made only on the basis of electoral arguments and not “on someone's intuition”. .

“At this moment, and we have made no secret, as in the Bucharest municipality and in the sectors we have found the formula to run on common lists, we propose the same approach in the county seat municipalities where there are no PNL or PSD mayors. Here we are discussing the municipalities of Timişoara, Braşov and Bacău, which is why I talked with the president of the Timiş branch”, said Ciucă, on Thursday, after the meeting of the National Political Bureau of the PNL, writes Agerpres.
He explained that the “duty” of the PNL is to find the formula to ensure winning the elections.
“Beyond what is represented by the analysis and the perspective that you have at the local level, our duty is to find the formula by which we can really ensure the winning of the Timişoara City Hall, because it is the symbol of everything that the right represented in politics from Romania. A decision has not been made yet, we still have negotiations in the coalition and when we have the perspective that we are approaching the end, as we did in Bucharest, (…) we all discussed within the executive leadership of the Party and the management of the Bucharest branch , we will proceed in the same way in the other counties and we will find a suitable formula”Ciucă added.
Asked if there is a possibility for the PNL to go on a separate list in these three county seats, Ciucă answered: “It is on the votes, as such we will count each vote to ensure that we will win the elections both at the level of territorial administrative units and at the county level. The decision, once again, is made on the basis of arguments, not on the basis of someone's will or intuition. Here we are discussing responsibility and it is not about individuals, but about PNL. Every member of the PNL must commit to what it means to fulfill the party's objective”.
The President of the Timiş County Council, Alin Nica, declared on Thursday that he cannot make an alliance with the PSD in Timiş and the right-wing project in this county must continue and will continue.
The Minister of Development, Adrian Veştea, stated that he will run for the position of president of the Braşov County Council and will win the elections “only on the PNL logo”noting that there will be a collaboration with PSD in the local elections in the county, but he does not believe that there will be a tandem in this regard at the town hall.
