The former international, now 57 years old, was disappointed by the Dynamo players, who “forgot” him in prison, but instead thanks Gigi Becali, who did everything to get him out earlier.

“I stayed for 6 months without 5 days. I can't say it was easy, but not hard either, I have a lot of friends. We didn't have conditions ok, I don't think a civilized man can stay there, but there's nothing you can do. A lot of people said I wouldn't surrender. Honestly yes (no if he thought not to surrender), I wanted to stop coming to Romania, what were the risks? I had a 7-month sentence, I stayed for 2 years and was pardoned, I didn't have a 10-year sentence.
Convicted for “a childish act”
Do you know why I surrendered? Since I don't consider myself the greatest danger of Romania, I did a childish act, my pleasure to drive brought me here, and the pleasures are paid in life (not the moment when they gave him tears). What have I done? In the end I turned myself in, why put handcuffs on me? I don't understand this Romania, where is the clemency? I got 7 months, like anyone else, I went to all possible courses, I had no report. Many thought I was going to shut up or that I was going to change.

Upset that Dinamo forgot him
The former international was active at CS Dinamo at the time he was sentenced. But no one from the club visited or called him in prison, unlike Gigi Becali. “No one from Dinamo was looking for me.
