A home appliance found in many of the houses of Romanians, especially those living in the block, will be forbidden from marketing starting July 1, by a decision of the European Union.

Starting July 1, 2025, Romanians will no longer be able to buy condensation dryers, a type of extremely used appliances, especially by those living in the block, given that drying outside the balcony is forbidden, according to Click!
The decision is part of an initiative of the European Union to protect the environment and to encourage the use of more energy efficient solutions and it comes as a result of such appliances are high electricity consumers. The producers will be obliged to withdraw these models from the market and promote the dry pump, much more economical and environmentally friendly laundry.
Condensing laundry dryers will disappear
The new regulations require that, from the summer of 2025, the producers will withdraw from the sale of condensing laundry dryers and to sell only better energy performance devices, such as heat pump dryers. The latter are much more efficient, having a much lower energy consumption: only 280W for a drying cycle, compared to 2,400W of condensation dryers.
The change is part of a long-term European initiative, which aims to reduce the carbon fingerprint of the household sector and to replace the technologies with negative impact on the environment with more energy efficient and environmental alternatives. The drying of the heat pump laundry are much more economical and, in addition, protect the clothes due to a more delicate drying cycle, say the specialists.
The new legislation will also impose greater transparency from the producers, who will be obliged to provide spare parts for consumers and authorized repair centers. In addition, the energy labels will be simplified, with a scale from A to G, and the products in class A will represent the tip of the energy performance.
Therefore, if you plan to purchase a laundry dryer, it is recommended to orient yourself for the heat pump models, because those by condensation will withdraw from the market.
