The new function intensifies rivalry with Google Search and marks a new step in integrating artificial intelligence into online search, writes Bloomberg. This option is accessible to any user connected to a chatgpt account, both in mobile applications and on the official OpenAI website. Previously, the option was only available for paying users.

The launch comes in the context of the increasing competition between the Tech giants, such as Microsoft and Google, who have integrated you in their own search engines. Openai now offers users the opportunity to set Chatgpt Search as a default search engine through the web browser, the company said.

In addition, Open AI has demonstrated a new feature by which users can ask questions, and Chatgpt will be verbally answered. This can be used for various information, such as tourist recommendations for a certain destination, checking the state, explanations about scientific concepts or even cooking tips.

The announcement is part of a series of 12 days of product launches, in which Openai also introduced a new Chatgpt Pro subscription, as well as a video generation tool called sister.
