“I resigned from the National Liberal Party, after a 25-year history, honorable at the time, but less motivating today. Such a decision, after 25 years of liberalism, after 30 years of political career, of course, must have several motivations. First of all, I am here today and I made this gesture because, personally, Dorin Dobra, former vice-president of the PNL, believes very strongly in the Geoană solution for Romania, he believes very strongly in the man Mircea Geoană, whom he met personally in the Parliament , believes very much in the diplomatic abilities of the gentleman Mircea Geoanăwhich are required for the job they are targeting and which I checked. (…) And I still very much believe in Mircea Geoană’s solution for the simple reason that today we need a platform that breathes, that brings new energies, that can attract new, capable people”said, during a press conference, the former vice-president of PNL Bistrita-Năsăud, quoted by Agerpres.
Dobra declared himself dissatisfied with the situation in the branch, where the leader Ioan Turc was recently challenged by several members with leadership positions, including himself, which is why the central leadership of the party decided to appoint a coordinator, in the person of MEP Daniel Buda .
Dorin Dobra: “Something is no longer working”
Regarding Nicolae Ciucă’s presidential candidacy, Dobra said that “he doesn’t understand it”.
“I simply don’t understand Mr. Ciucă’s candidacy. My resignation relates not so much to the central situation as to the local one. I want to convey to the national leadership of the PNL the fact that my resignation must be a strong alarm signal for the situation in Bistriţa-Năsăud County. In the current formula, with the current dynamics, PNL Bistriţa-Năsăud cannot have fruitful results. (…) Something is no longer working. The mainstream, classic parties today have a big, huge problem: they are no longer receptive to the people of the city, society, nation, who in the meantime have validated themselves professionally. They are schemes, actually they are structures of influence and legally organized interests, for the same people. In the meantime, Romania has moved to another level, the mainstream parties have lagged behind today’s Romanian society”, Dobra explained.
The former vice-president of PNL Bistrita-Năsăud added that he joined the “Romania is reborn” Movement and will coordinate the activity at the county level.
Dorin Dobra was a senator from Bistrita-Năsăud in the period 2012-2016, elected on the USL lists.
