A well-known surgeon from Galaţi, Dr. Paul Ichim, raged on social networks because of the computer system in the hospitals, which does not really work. “Patients wait at the door and curse the medical staff,” claims the renowned doctor.

“What could be better in the health system than to start the week with the question…..you will go the SIUI (the unique ….ha….integrated IT system)? In the given situation, medical documents cannot be processed, admissions, discharges, etc. can't be done. Patients are waiting at the door and cursing the medical staff”, writes doctor Paul Ichim, on his Facebook page.
The surgeon also says that the problems with the IT system in hospitals are old, and the solution lies with the Ministry of Health. “There is too much mockery in the system“, says the doctor.
“For nothing it's sunny and beautiful outside, you leave loaded with a bag of undeserved swearing. We've been yelling about this wretched IT system for months now, and nothing happens, as if it's really intentional. If you think that the financing of medical services was ensured based on the reported cases and how these budgets are already in…, it's like you want to join the conspirators. Ministerial hypoacusis is also curious. In conclusion, I have no conclusions, there is too much mockery in the system. To be continued!”reports Dr. Paul Ichim, surgeon at the Galati County Hospital.
Family doctors: The dysfunctional IT system directly affects patients
On countless occasions, the National Society of Family Medicine (SNMF) has complained that the computer system provided by the National Health Insurance House is non-functional, which directly affects patients' access to medical services and blocks the activity of medical offices.
“For a long time, this computer system is non-functional and inadmissibly blocks medical activity in primary medicine and beyond. Patients' access to medical services is practically blocked by an IT service that is outdated from the point of view of the purpose for which it was created. Moreover, this outdated IT system endangers medical activity at the national level”claims SNMF, in a press release from March 2024.
