According to Forbes, Adam Sandler, 59, was the highest paid actor in Hollywood in 2025. However, he earned much less than Dwayne Johnson in 2024.
The comedian earned $48 million in the last fiscal year, according to People!, citing Forbes. Adam Sandler produced and starred in Happy Gilmore 2 (2025).
Despite taking the top spot in 2025, Sandler earned significantly less than 2024’s highest-paid actor, Dwayne Johnson, who earned $88 million.
Forbes also reported that the combined earnings of Hollywood’s 20 highest-paid actors were $590 million, down 20 percent from $730 million the previous year.
The second highest-paid actor in 2025 is Tom Cruise, who earned $46 million for the eighth film in the franchise, “Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning.”
In third place is Mark Wahlberg with $44 million, followed by Scarlett Johansson with $43 million and Brad Pitt with $41 million.
Wahlberg, 54, earned from productions such as “The Family Plan,” “Play Dirty” and “Flight Risk.” Johansson, 41, starred in “Jurassic World: Rebirth” and “The Phoenician Scheme” and made her directorial debut with “Eleanor the Great.” Pitt, 62, appeared in the 2026 Oscar-nominated film ‘F1’.
The top ten is completed by Denzel Washington ($38 million), Jack Black ($28 million), Jason Momoa ($28 million), Daniel Craig ($27 million) and Millie Bobby Brown ($26 million), the “Stranger Things” actress.
Last year, Washington, 71, starred in “Highest 2 Lowest. Black,” 56, appeared in A Minecraft Movie alongside Momoa and the Anaconda reboot with Paul Rudd. Craig, 58, reprized his role as Detective Benoit Blanc in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery for Netflix.
Forbes’ revenue estimates are based on data from Box Office Mojo and IMDb, as well as interviews with industry insiders. Amounts reflect earnings after commissions to agents, managers and attorneys.
