The National Institute of Public Health (INSP) reported an alarming increase in cases of people infected with Sars-Cov 2, by 86.2% compared to the previous week.

Therefore, between January 6 and 12, 162 were detected with the Sars-Cov 2 virus. Of these, 52 are re-infected patients, tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection, writes Agerpres.
Also during this period, seven deaths were recorded due to Covid-19. Thus, four new deaths were reported and three reported more than a week after the date of registration, all of whom had comorbidities.
In total, 69,243 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died in Romania and 3,582,293 have been diagnosed with Covid since the pandemic began.
In the last week, 776 RT-PCR tests and 16,068 rapid antigen tests were performed. The positivity rate was 1%.
Until this date, at the national level, 14,039,058 RT-PCR tests and 15,169,720 rapid antigen tests have been processed.
