Alex Creţ obtained the 7th place in cat. 90 kg, on Sunday, at the Grand Slam judo tournament in Tbilisi, Georgia, writes AGERPRES.

Creţ entered directly into the second round, in which he won against the Argentine Mariano Coto Bersier, in the round of 16 he won against the Japanese Goki Tajima, but lost the quarter-finals in the confrontation with the Georgian Laşa Bekauri, and then he also lost in the requalifications in the face of the South Korean Sungho Lee. Bekauri managed to win the gold in the cat. 90 kg.

At cat. 100 kg, the Cuban-born Romanian Asley Gonzalez also went directly to the second round, losing to the Georgian Onise Saneblidze.

Georgia managed to occupy the first place in the medal ranking, with 4 gold and one bronze, followed by Spain, 2-0-0, Canada, 1-2-1, etc.

Romania participated in the competition with five judokas, four for men and one for women.

531 judokas from 83 countries participated in the competition, 296 male and 235 female.
