Designer Alexandru Ciucu confirmed that he was offered the first season of Survivor Romania produced by Antena 1, but he refused for reasons related to the children’s schedule and the unpredictable duration of filming. He says he would fit better in Asia Express.

Antena 1 is looking for stars for the first season of Survivor Romania, after taking over the format from Pro TV. Among the names contacted was the designer Alexandru Ciucu, ex-husband of Alina Sorescu and creator associated with the Royal House, who confirms that he received the proposal, but will not enter the competition, according to Click.ro.

Antena 1 accelerates the selection process for the first season of Survivor Romania, and among the targeted stars were designer Alexandru Ciucu and Stelian Ogică. Ciucu says that the proposal surprised him, because it is not a name that the public would easily associate with an extreme survival format.
“Yes, I happened to get a proposal, as a competitor. They probably thought it was a good idea. That’s because no one would have seen me in this area. We didn’t end up negotiating“, he declared for Cancan. The designer, known for his collaborations with the Royal House and for his previous marriage to Alina Sorescu, says that the invitation was flattering, but not feasible under the current conditions.
The artist states that the children’s schedule and the long and unpredictable time spent in the competition led him to decline the offer. “First of all, I can’t go because of the schedule with the kids. You don’t know how long you’re going to be there. And it would have been very difficult. But I’m glad they thought of me. It shows me that you can’t tell the years after all.”he says. Ciucu adds that he would have done well in events involving swimming, a skill in which he has solid experience. “I think I could handle it. I’m a good swimmer. I handle myself pretty well in tough situations. And a man who’s been through three years of divorce is a hardened man.”
The designer says he sees himself in a different kind of televised competition. “I’d rather find myself in Asia Express. If I ever got an offer and could go, I would then think about who I would team up with. It is not very easy to choose”he says.
