The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, said on Wednesday, at the Digital Doctor Gala 2026, that the health system reform includes the launch, in a few months, of a new digital platform that will connect both medical service providers and patients.
“The patient will be able to see, in an apotheotical end, after 36 years, his electronic file”, said the minister.
Rogobete emphasized that the objective is to transform the Romanian health system into the digital area in the next 2-3 years: “I am confident that in the next period, i.e. the next 2-3 years, the health system in Romania will be transformed as much as possible in the digital area.”
The minister mentioned that digital medicine is already being implemented, through programs financed by PNRR, which have allowed significant investments in recent years. The new interactive platform will allow patients to view their electronic record, make appointments and facilitate connection to the European medical data space, providing access to medical information anywhere in Europe.
“Also, Romania is currently ready to align itself with the European data space in the medical area and we will start the procedures for connection, so that Romanians have access to medical data wherever they are in Europe”. Rogobete also said.
The minister stated that several medical units already operate in a digital regime, including the County Hospital in Timisoara, the Marie Curie Hospital in Bucharest and the Children’s Hospital in Iasi.
