Andrea Bălan’s father, about the amounts that many artists ask for at concerts: “Too much money is given where it shouldn’t be”

Television exposure transformed the Romanian music market. If once the voice was enough to win over the public, today artists appearing in talent shows like “The voice of Romania” or “Romanians have talent” can negotiate their fees to considerable sums.

Săndel Bălan, the father of Andrea Bălan, a well-known name in the Romanian music industry, revealed that the fees of artists who gained notoriety through these shows have increased significantly. “Now too much money is given where it shouldn’t be,” Bălan told cancan.ro, adding that some artists ask for up to 20,000 euros for a single concert.

Now too much money is given where it is not needed. If the artist is on TV, on Vocea României, Romanians have Talent or I know you from somewhere, where my daughter is, it naturally increases their image. And the vast majority ask a lot. It reached some astronomical prices. With the world always seeing them on TV, they have greatly increased their show ratesBalan also said.

Săndel revealed that his daughter, Andreea, one of the oldest stars from “do i know you” has very high fees and that TV promotion can help an artist enormously.

It can reach 20,000 euros for a show. It depends on the formula in which the artist comes. And Andreea has quite high prices. I don’t know exactly how much, because I don’t take care of it myself“, he added.

The well-known impresario is of the opinion that the big bands have disappeared because every artist wants to sing alone.

During the Andre period, it was a prolific, inspirational period. Big acts like 3SE, N&D, Talisman, LA, ASIA and many more appeared. They all had hits. At least one. And the vast majority of them are still sung today. Then the artists were determined and serious. Now everyone wants to play alone, bands have kind of disappeared“, added Andrea Bălan’s father.
