„Following the sampling report the ANPC series no. 0022380/18.02.2025, ANPC inspectors took samples of ice cubes in order to carry out microbiological analyzes from McDonald’s Baneasa.
On February 24, 2025, the test report no. 11719502, issued by the ICA Laboratory, confirmed the presence of intestinal enterococci (2.3 x 102 UFC/100ml) and coliform bacteria (2.7 x 102 UFC/100ml), values that exceed the limits allowed by the Ordinance 7/2023, which requires a threshold of 0 UFC/100ml for these microorganisms. Contamination of ice with these bacteria presents a significant risk for consumers’ health, especially through its use in soft drinks.
As a result of this construction, Premier Restaurants SRL was sanctioned with a fine of 30,000 lei. At the same time, ANPC ordered the temporary stop of the use of the ice device until the deficiencies are remedied ”, It is mentioned in the report issued by ICA.
Given the possibility that this contamination will be present in other locations of the restaurant chain, ANPC has proposed the issuance of an order temporarily suspending all the ice appliances in the Premier Restaurants SRL network at national level, until additional analyzes that attest to product safety.
