The president of the Romanian Football Federation, Răzvan Burleanu (40 years old), will continue his activity in the FIFA Council, being confirmed on Thursday for another term at the UEFA Congress, which took place in Belgrade, FRF announced on the official website.
Răzvan Burleanu has reason to laugh
As with the last elections from FRF, Băcăuan competed without opponents. Without having a candidate, Răzvan Burleanu and three other members, Georgios Koum (Cyprus), Bernd Neuendorf (Germany) and Dejan Savicevic (Montenegro), were re -elected. Following the Belgrade meeting, Pascale Van Damme (Belgium) took the place in the FIFA Council allocated to a woman.
Răzvan Burleanu was first elected in the FIFA Council in April 2021, being the first Romanian to hold such a position from FRF affiliation to FIFA, in 1923.
The new term in the FIFA Council, valid until 2029, brings for Răzvan Burleanu and the position of membership of the UEFA Executive Committee.
