At Romană, where the people of Bucharest and Romanian art meet. For 10 years, the Roman Gallery has been a monument house

For 10 years, the Romanian Gallery in Bucharest has been the meeting place for those who love old Romanian and contemporary art. A monumental house is the organizing space for the 140 exhibitions.

The Romanian Gallery in Bucharest is the meeting place for those who love art

Contemporary jewelry, exhibitions of Byzantine icons, cultural events

In one of the most congested places in Bucharest, with a lot of history and a tumultuous present, a monumental house has become the meeting place of art, in its different forms.

There, in Romană, in 2014, Monica Andronic and Emil Ene, two great art enthusiasts, became co-founders of the space known as Galeria Romană in Bucharest. Through the 140 exhibitions, the house is today a real cultural center, where plastic art and personal or group exhibitions of both Romanian and foreign painters have been mixed in the happiest way.

Here, at the Roman Gallery in Bucharest, comparative art, ceramics and porcelain exhibitions, contemporary jewelry met exhibitions of traditional Byzantine Orthodox icons, cultural events with social and educational plastic themes, book launches, conferences, workshops.

The Romanian Gallery in Bucharest also means participation in national and international events, numerous collaborations with museums from the country and abroad, with specialized institutions and associations.

The old house from Romană is today a meeting place for artists, art critics, collectors and lovers of beauty, contributing to the development and strengthening of the artistic community in the country.

The Romanian Gallery has assumed an important role in preserving and promoting Romania's cultural heritage by exhibiting valuable works of art that illustrate the country's diversity and artistic richness.

“Thanks to everyone for these ten years”

The 10 years are celebrated by the Romanian Gallery in Bucharest with the anniversary exhibition “Gratias Tibi Omnes per hos decem annos”. The anniversary event is equally a celebration of his contribution to the promotion of art and culture in Romania.

The title of the exhibition, “Gratias tibi omnes per hos decem annos”, means “Thanks to everyone for these ten years” in Latin, reflecting the gallery's gratitude to the artists, visitors, partners and friends who have supported it along this path of a decade.

The exhibition brings together an impressive selection of works of art representing, practically, the history of Romanian art: from pristolnice, spinning forks, icons, barks, ceramics made by craftsmen from the 19th century, to the easel art of Aman, Luchian, Grigorescu, Petrașcu, Pallady, Schweitzer Cumpăna, Ștefan Dimitrescu, Dumitru Ghiață, Nicolae Tonitza, and the moderns Ion Țuculescu, Alexandru Ciucurencu and Corneliu Baba.

Valuable contemporary Romanian painters are present through the Prolog Group – Paul Gherasim, Constantin Flondor, Ion Grigorescu, Matei Lăzărescu, Christian Paraschiv, Horea Paștina, Mihai Sârbulescu, Valentin Scarlătecu, Dan Mohanu -, Vasile Gorduz, Dinu Săvescu and the younger but very talented ones Bogdan Vlăduță, Paul Timofei, Bogdan Turcea and Mircea Hristescu.

At the Roman Gallery in Bucharest, visitors explore and connect with the works of art, discovering new perspectives and even expressing their own interpretations and emotions in front of these artistic creations.

“Thanks to everyone for these ten years”, the anniversary exhibition “Gratias Tibi Omnes per hos decem annos” is the event through which the Romanian Gallery demonstrates that it remains a pillar of culture and art in Romania, becoming a vital space for the promotion and appreciation of quality art, as well as for supporting and encouraging emerging and established artists.

“Gratias Tibi Omnes per hos decem annos”, the exhibition for sale remains open until March 30, 2024.
