The president of AUR, George Simion, announced that he will be present on Friday evening, from 8:00 p.m., in Piața Victoriei, where he will protest for fair elections and for the vacancy of the position of president.
“The votes of over nine million Romanians were thrown in the trash, because they did not suit the system! And now they are trying to limit voting in the Diaspora and censorship in the online environment, by intimidation of social networks that they cannot control. Today’s ÎCCJ decision defies the millions of Romanians who demand the resumption of the 2nd round. And it ignores the lack of clear evidence for the annulment of the elections. But if they think they saw each other with the bags in the cart, they are sorely mistaken! The Romanians woke up! And they will continue to protest for a sovereign Romania, where decisions are made in the interest of the people“, stated George Simion in a press release.
At the same time, on Saturday, January 18, starting at 14:00, AUR members will protest in front of prefectures from all over the country and embassies abroad, alongside Romanians who want to live in a functional democracy.
In Bucharest, Saturday’s protest will start in front of the Bucharest Prefecture (Strada Batiștei, no. 13), continuing on the march towards the Ilfov prefecture (Str. Smârdan no. 3).
Such demonstrations will take place in front of prefectures from all over the country, but also in front of embassies in the Diaspora.
