The topics at the autumn session of the History Baccalaureate, considered trivial photo archive

Professor Corneliu Riegler, from the Bilingual National College “George Coșbuc” in Bucharest, commented and solved the baccalaureate topics of the compulsory profile test, on Tuesday, August 12.

He also brought criticism to the Ministry of Education, stating that the degree of difficulty of the subjects was intentionally low, to achieve “false positive” results.

“The topics were accessible and much easier than in the summer session. They were given some trivial themes. For example, on topic I, they were given the battles and treaties of the rulers of the Middle Ages. On the subject II the war of independence was given. Some accessible topics and a student. obtain, artificially, great results ”says the teacher.

Maximum note with minimal effort

Asked if the students have the opportunity to get big grades without significant efforts, Professor Riegler gave the Vedict: they can approach 10, with a minimum of conscience.

“If I know how to write, they will take a passing note without any problem. With a minimum conscientiousness, it could be easily taken over 9.50.”

In the almost four decades at the chair, the teacher states that he has never seen such light topics, but also that this was willful.

In 36 years since I was teaching, I have not seen such light topics! In the other years, in history, the topics in the second session had the same degree of difficulty as in the first. Now, it is clear that the degree of difficulty has been intentionally decreased ””, says Corneliu Riegler.

What would be one of the differences?

They gave them long periods of time, unlike other years- they were not given all the Middle Ages or a whole century. “noted the history teacher.

The full solving of subject III – “and if you were watching TV you knew how to solve”

The subject III failed communism. The selected period was 1947-1985, that is, from the abdication of King Mihai I until 1985, four years before the fall of Ceausescu’s regime.

The first requirement demanded the students of a historical fact in Romania, between 1947-1948 and the mention of two aspects of it.

Corneliu Riegler: “First of all, in 1947 they even had the abdication of King Mihai I and the proclamation of the Romanian People’s Republic, on the same day. In 1948, they had three major events, namely: the adoption of the Constitution, which activated the form of government, from the monarchy to the Republic and the name of the country, from the Romanian Kingdom to the Romanian People’s Republic. Centralized state If you were watching TV you knew how to solve

The second requirement: mentioning two aspects regarding the foreign policy of Romania, between 1949-1960

Corneliu Riegler: “A.they will see a multitude of resolutions. In 1949, Romania’s accession to CAER (the Economic Organization founded by the USSR with the socialist states in Europe).

In 1955, Romania adheres to the UN. In the same year, he joins the Warsaw Pact.

In 1956, participation in the repression of the Hungarian revolution.

In 1958, the withdrawal of Soviet troops. ”

The third requirement: a political practice in Romania, between 1961-1975

Corneliu Riegler: “1961 is the end of Dej’s period, 1975, the beginning of the period of Ceausescu.

It is clear that this is the communist regime. They could choose any totalitarian practice: censorship, political police (security), activism, opposition, personality cult. ”

The last requirement referred to the foreign policy promoted by Romania between 1965-1985

Corneliu Riegler: Here, very handy, they could choose Ceausescu’s protest against the invasion of the Czechoslovaks in 1968. They could choose Ceausescu’s relationships with the West. The visit of Charles de Gaulle to Bucharest and Craiova, from 1968, from there I also received the manufacturing patent for Dacia cars. In 1969, the visit of Richard Nixon to Bucharest. In 1978, Ceausescu’s visit to the United Kingdom, when Queen Elizabeth was walking.

False-positive results. “A grim maneuver”

One of the conclusions would be that each requirement had five possibilities of resolution, within the reach of anyone. Professor Riegler concludes with a harsh accusation, namely, the fact that the state wants to hide its incompetence, regarding the education system.

“It is a marshy maneuver, because the ministry wants to hide its incompetence and decline of education. Giving extremely easy topics will appear false positive,” the teacher believes.
