Baccalaureate 2024, autumn session. Teacher, about Biology subjects: “Hard!”. Where the students got confused

The 2024 Baccalaureate exam, the autumn session, continued today with the test to choose the profile and specialization. Students from Real could opt for Biology, but the subjects were quite difficult, said teacher Ionela Cociorva for Adevărul.

The subjects in Biology had a medium to difficult level of difficulty, the teacher explained. “Especially since these students failed the Baccalaureate in the summer. Many of them even in Biology. Even so, one can easily get a grade five, but for a higher grade they really had to study, especially since the subjects went through the whole subject”, said the teacher.

The grids gave them some trouble. “How many of them are dying to learn fermentations?”

The teacher believes that the grids were “more in detail, from the realms, which the students, in general, don’t really like. Then the sentences they had to formulate could have given them difficulty because they were more detailed stuff. They were given acetic fermentation. How many of them are dying to learn fermentation? That is, they were not asked to ferment in the general way, but something specific. He went into detail. And here only those who studied very well could answer”.

The students are not doing very well in the argumentation section either. “And here he could have had some problems. Students were asked to argue that the cells that make up the conducting vessels are special. The essay, on the other hand, was more accessible. They received the bone tissue, and here they could say a lot.”

“Even in the summer it wasn’t easy”

The biology teacher who commented on the difficulty of the subjects for Adevărul told us that they were about the same as the ones in the summer. “Even in the summer it was not easy. On the other hand, the topics of now were fixed on the same pattern. They were not identical, obviously, they contained separate figures, but they were formulated in the same way, on the same model well-known to children”.

The students who did not pass the Biology exam in the first session of the Baccalaureate, the one in the summer, had enough time to recover the subject and now obtain a passing grade, according to the teacher. “Whoever wanted it, certainly succeeded. They had plenty of time to prepare. I am referring to the students who have at least some knowledge base, because those who have not learned anything have no way to fatten the pig on Eve. Well, if they also failed other tests in the summer…it’s already making things even more complicated,” says prof. Ionela Cociorva.
