Candidates registered for the fall session of the national Baccalaureate exam take the mandatory profile test on Tuesday, August 11, in Mathematics or History, depending on the specialization pursued.
Candidates were admitted to the exam centers between 07:30 and 08:30, based on a valid identity document.
The exam started at 09:00, and the time allotted for solving the subjects is three hours, calculated from the moment when their distribution ended in the exam hall.
According to the Ministry of Education and Research, over 33,000 candidates have registered for the second session of the Baccalaureate 2026. Of these, over 22,000 are from the current promotion, and over 11,000 are graduates of previous years.
After the Romanian language and literature test, held on Monday, August 10, and the mathematics exam on Tuesday, the Autumn Baccalaureate continues on Wednesday with the test for the choice of profile and specialization, and on August 13 with the written test of the native language and literature for students belonging to national minorities.
Strict rules regarding access to exam rooms
Candidates are not allowed to enter the examination halls with mobile phones, textbooks, notebooks, notes or other electronic devices. Personal items must be deposited in specially arranged spaces before the start of the test. Refusal to comply with this procedure leads to the impossibility of participating in the exam.
Between 08:30 and 09:00, the assistants explain to the students the rules for conducting the test, and the assignment to the banks is done individually, in alphabetical order.
The results will be displayed on August 18
The first results of the autumn session will be published next week.
“The display of the first results will take place on August 18 (until 12:00). After the first display, candidates can request to view their paper(s), in accordance with the provisions of the procedure established by the National Baccalaureate Commission, and can file appeals (Tuesday, August 18, between 14:00 and 18:00, respectively on August 19 and 20). Submitting appeals is not conditional on viewing the works. In the same way, viewing the papers does not oblige the candidate to submit the appeal. Also, viewing the works is strictly informative and does not imply their correction”stated the representatives of the Ministry of Education
The Ministry of Education specifies that submitting an appeal is not conditional on viewing the work, and the final grade can be changed both by increasing and decreasing after re-correction.
The final results will be displayed on August 24.
To pass the exam, candidates must obtain a minimum grade of 5 in each written test and an overall average of at least 6.
