FC Argeş got the last qualifying place in the play-off today, after defeating Dinamo with a score of 1-0 at the National Arena in the capital, in the 29th stage. Pitesti got the three points they needed to face the only teams still hoping for the elite group: FCSB and UTA. The two teams play tonight in the direct match in Arad, but the result no longer matters in the perspective of the play-off.
It will be the first time that the red-blues will play in the second value group in the 11 seasons since the Superliga has been run in this competitive system. And for the second time in this interval, the champion does not catch the play-off. Before FCSB, only Farul was not in the first value group, having won the title in the previous season.

FCSB still has a chance to play next season in European cups. As they also made fun of the Romanian Cup, thus missing a good chance to reach the Europa League, the reigning champion can only hope for the Conference League. If it wins the play-out or comes out in 2nd place (8th overall), FCSB will play the play-off between the first two ranked teams from the second value group. In the event of a win, it will face the 3rd or 4th place in the play-off, with the winner entering the 2nd preliminary round of the Conference League.
