The outfit, created exclusively by him, caught all the eyes of the other guests, being a black suit and a velvet cloak, sewn with 24k gold thread, but also with precious stones. The amount of the cloak amounted to 100,000 dollars
“I went to Monaco, to Prince Albert’s last ball this year, at the famous Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo. Apart from the shoes, which belong to a famous brand, everything was signed by me“, he said, in an interview for Unica.
Along with Botezatu, 14 more people contributed to the creation, an effort that stretched over three months.
Although the cape managed to steal the eyes of tourists with its gorgeousness, it still gave the famous designer a headache, who admitted that it was uncomfortable to wear.
“On top of that I wore a hand-stitched cloak with 24 carat gold threads and 14 precious stones for three months. It was hard to bear. It was embroidered on velvet with a velvet lining. It was awkward, I might say, but wow to watch. It was worth all the money“, he also said.
