Turnaround in the case of the crime in Timiș county: the state authorities took the 13-year-old boy, accused of killing Mario Berinde, from his family. Parental rights have been suspended.
The Directorate for Child Protection Timiș urgently removed the 13-year-old child from the family, after the parents did not comply with the requests of the DGASPC. Inspectors requested that the boy attend online school and take specialist assessments, but the parents ignored these requests.
Therefore, the Commission for Child Protection asked the court to urgently take the boy from the family, and the parents to have their rights suspended.
The 13-year-old was taken to a center to be evaluated and receive specialized services. The parents cannot get in touch, for now, with him, according to the teacher’s opinion.
“Considering the non-fulfillment, by the R. family, of the obligations assumed following the decision of the Commission for Child Protection, the presidential ordinance was submitted to the court in order to take over, as an emergency, the minor RMD. The ordinance was implemented in the afternoon of 01/29/2026. Parental rights are suspended until the placement is pronounced. The minor will be evaluated from all points of view and he will be given specialized services, according to the recommendations of the specialists. The crime that shook Timiș County happened on January 19, when Mario, a 15-year-old teenager, was invited by a 13-year-old child under the pretext of presenting an ATV. Arriving at his home, Mario was hit in the head with a hatchet, and another 15-year-old teenager stabbed him with a knife. Later, the three tried to set fire to the body and bury it in the garden of the house.
