British actor and comedian Russell Brand was charged for rape, indecent aggression and sexual aggression, facts that would have taken place between 1999 and 2005.

These accusations concern four different women, according to the BBC.
Brand has been heard several times by the police after an investigation by several publications in September 2023 has revealed multiple serious accusations against it.
The actor and the comedian, aged 49, previously denied the charges by appointing them “Very, very painful” and claiming that his relationships were “Always consensual”.
In a short statement, the Metropolitan Police announced that he was informed on the brand of being accused of rape, indecent aggression, oral rape and two other sexual aggressions.
Open investigation
Jaswant Narwal, representative of the Crown Prosecutor’s Office, said:
“Today I authorized the Metropolitan Police to accuse the Russell Brand for several sexual crimes. We carefully analyzed the evidence after an investigation by the police on the accusations made following the broadcast of the documentary Channel 4, in September 2023.
I came to the conclusion that Russell Brand should be charged for crimes such as rape, sexual aggression and indecent aggression. These refer to facts reported as committed between 1999 and 2005, involving four women. The Prosecutor’s Office service reminds everyone that the criminal procedures are in progress, and the defendant has the right to a fair trial. It is extremely important that there are no reports, comments or distributions of online information that could harm these procedures. ”
Andy Furphy, who leads the Metropolitan Police investigation, said that “Women who have filed complaints continue to receive support from specialized officers.”
He also said that the police survey remains open, and the detectives urges any person affected by this case or holding relevant information to contact the authorities.
Brand’s career
Russell Brand became known as a stand-up actor, holding shows at Hackney Empire in 2000 and later at Edinburgh Fringe.
Subsequently, he launched on television and radio, presenting shows broadcast at national level.
His career included the creation of radio shows at the BBC, especially for 6 Music and Radio 2, between 2006 and 2008.
He was also the host of TV programs on Channel 4 and played in Hollywood movies.
