Springsteen criticized Trump and during his first presidential term, saying it was a “threat to our democracy ”.
The singer has long been a supporter of the Democrats and a close friend of Barack Obama – he campaigned for each of his presidential campaigns, and the two created together a series of podcasts, Renegades: Born in the USA. Springsteen also participated in rallies for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s campaigns.
Springsteen also wrote a defining anthem of the September 11th tragedy, The Rising.
