In March 2014, at only 29 years old, Răzvan Burleanu became the head of Romanian football, coming, practically, from nowhere. Today, at 40 years old, the number 1 man from Casa Fotbalului recorded another important victory. It is a sign that in Romania there is a great need for a manager of the size of the president of the FRF. Not only in football, but in all Romanian sports.

According to Agerpres, Mihai Covaliu (46 years old) was re-elected as president in the elections held by the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee (COSR). Predictable result, moreover, considering that this Olympic year was, as a whole, a successful one for Romania. Moreover, Covaliu had no opponent, so his re-election was a mere formality.
The surprise came after the General Assembly voted to appoint the three vice-presidents of COSR. Because one place was occupied by Răzvan Burleanu. He will therefore hold two important positions in Romanian sport from now on. At the last match of the national football team, Romania – Lithuania (3-1), Răzvan Burleanu sat next to Mihai Covaliu.
Elisabeta Lipă (head of the National Sports Agency) and Camelia Potec (also head of the Romanian Swimming and Modern Pentathlon Federation) were also voted by the General Assembly and will hold the position of vice-president within COSR. Burleanu, Lipă and Potec were the only candidates for these positions.
For the 13 member positions in the COSR Executive Committee, the following were elected: Marius Florea – 164 votes, Simona Amânar – 159, Cristinel Romanescu 157, Răzvan Pîrcălabu – 155, Alin Petrache – 161, Puiu Gaspar – 164, Alexandru Dedu – 140, Laura Badea – 147, Georgeta Andrunache – 140, Constantina Diţă – 140, Alina Dumitru – 114, Claudia Georgescu – 162 and Vlad Ardeleanu – 161.
The position of general secretary will be occupied by George Boroi, and that of treasurer by Dan Manolescu.
The mandates of the governing bodies elected on Thursday end in April 2029.
