On Friday evening, Călin Georgescu published a message on Facebook addressed to all those affected by the explosion on Friday, October 17, from the block of flats in Rahova, as a result of which three people died, 15 others were seriously injured, and dozens of families were left without a roof over their heads.
Emphasizing, on the one hand, the human dimension of the tragedy, not just the material losses, and on the other, the “humanity” of those who rushed to lend a helping hand to those now left on the roads, he writes in his message that “evil does not just happen by chance” and draws attention to the responsibility of state institutions.
“My dears,
Today’s tragedy in Bucharest, the explosion of the block in Calea Rahovei, hurts us all.
Behind the ruins are lives, tears, people – brothers.
I embrace, with my soul, those who have lost everything and those who are now fighting for life or to save lives. May God rest the departed and strengthen them the wounded and those who serve in these moments. Thanks to those who help, to those who are not afraid to be people – good, clean, true.
Every Romanian who feels the pain of another keeps the light of this country alive. The true strength of a people lies not in weapons, money or technology – but in the collective character of those who make it up. Humanity is the deepest form of power, that yes to life and good, even in the dark.
But let’s not forget that evil doesn’t just come by chance. When the heart grows cold, the whole life pays the price – and some, who must watch, now seek shadows of guilt instead of their own conscience.
May God help Romania, which lives through those who love, who help and who do not lose their humanity”, sent the former candidate for the presidential elections, currently accused in a criminal case in which serious accusations are brought against him.
