The feature film “Anora”, directed by the American filmmaker Sean Baker, won the Palme d'Or trophy at the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, the jury of the Croazeta competition announced on Saturday evening, the site reports official of the event.
The film “Anora” is a thriller that presents the sad but often funny story of a strip dancer from New York, who marries the son of a Russian oligarch on a whim, a decision that triggers a wave of problems, writes Agerpres.

In 2023, the Palme d'Or trophy was awarded to the feature film “Anatomy d'une chute”, directed by the French filmmaker Justine Triet.
The 77th Croazeta awards gala took place on Saturday evening at the Palace of Festivals and Congresses in Cannes. The host of the ceremony was the French actress Camille Cottin. The jury of the official competition was chaired by the American filmmaker Greta Gerwig.
