“I want to apply. I have the support of Nicușor Dan”said Cătălin Drulă, at Digi 24.
He also said that he would like this candidacy to be supported on the right, at least in Bucharest. He does not believe that the entire coalition (PNL-USR-PSD-UDMR) could have a unique candidate.
“The coalition seems a lot to me, I think a common candidate should be on the right side, I know that Ilie Bolojan and Dominic Fritz want this job (…) There are discussions in progress and Ilie Bolojan and Nicușor Dan,” said Cătălin Drulă.
According to him, the elections for the Capital City Hall could take place in the fall.
“In November is the discussion that took place in the coalition,” said the former USR leader.
Cătălin Drulă is in the third term of deputy, being chosen on December 1, 2024, on USR lists, in the Timiș constituency.
Another variant discussed in PNL is the candidacy of Ciprian Ciucu, the mayor of Sector 6, elected with over 70% of the votes in the poll of last year. On Tuesday, August 19th, Ciucu said that there are already polls, but will not communicate on this subject until the government will establish the election calendar.
“We know quite well how we are at this moment, but I prefer not to communicate at this time regarding the City Hall. It seems to me that we are talking about the skin of the bear in the forest.said Ciprian Ciucu.
