Mr. Mircea Geoană said that he does not want to be supported by the PSD”stated Ciolacu, writes Agerpres.

Asked if he would personally support him, the PSD president replied: “I can't do anything other than what I decide together with my colleagues”.

Regarding his eventual candidacy for the presidential elections, Marcel Ciolacu reiterated that a decision will be made after the June 9 elections.

“Being president of the party, it is normal that my correct approach to my colleagues and Romanians is first to see the results of the elections on the 9th, and then, together with my colleagues, we will make the best decision . (…) What I can tell you with certainty: the possibility that the Social Democratic Party will not have a candidate is excluded“, he said.

Asked about the option of a joint PNL-PSD presidential candidate, the PSD president showed that “in politics, if you want to have performance, you must know how to leave the doors open for any discussion”.
