Sad news in Romanian sport. Motorsport pilot, Cornel Zamfirescu, died. It became known after the rally races on the snow with Dacia 1310.

The announcement was made by the Romanian Federation of Sports Automobilism.
“Unfortunately, Cornel Zamfirescu, an active pilot in the FRAS championships, legitimized at the BSSR club, went out of life, lightning, last night. God keep him in guard!”is shown in the statement of the Romanian Federation of Sports Automobilism.
Cornel Zamfirescu was known for those snow rallies with the famous “Cornelușa”, as he had nicknamed that Dacia 1310 on which he piloted.
“With deep sadness we announce that the pilot Cornel Zamfirescu, the father of the famous Dacia 1310 he left us lightning last night. His departure leaves a huge void in the souls of those who have known and appreciated, both as a man and as a fan of motorsport. His memory will remain alive through the contributions to the car community and by the passion he instilled in future generations. We convey sincere condolences to the family and to all those who loved and respected it. Let us remember him dearly, as he wished-with a smile on his lips and passion for engines in his soul, in this last turn of life ”, The ones from with deep sadness have been transmitted, we announce that the pilot Cornel Zamfirescu, the father of the famous Dacia Revival.
