Costantin Toma, about the possibility of taking over the PSD leadership: “I will probably couple this”

The mayor of Buzău, Constantin Toma, said on Wednesday, July 16, that he would accept to be part of the future management team of the PSD, after the congress announced this autumn.

In the context of signing a contract for the rehabilitation of 30 blocks in the municipality, the mayor announced that he did not think of the position of PSD president, but would accept to be part of the future party management team, after the congress announced this autumn.

“I did not think of the position of president, if any team is probably co-opt for me to work on this because I have a special, political and administrative experience and I think I can help.

On the other side are many colleagues, Titus Corlăţean, Mihnea Costoiu, Robert Cazanciuc, there are many colleagues that I see in this position and they can rebuild, to rehabilitate the party because this team is obviously, who is the former team, exhausted, can not deliver anything and, under these conditions, obviously, the party will decrease in 10%,said the mayor of Buzău.

According to the Social Democrat, the current leadership of the party is no longer reliable, the situation being reflected in polls.

“No one trusts them, in the leadership and for this reason it is very complicated without confidence to build something. The two parties we are in governance have restarted, I mean PNL and USR, they have grown in polls, the only one that decreases is PSD, the only one growing, with voters from the obvious PSD.

It is not the purpose of my life to keep a position in the party, in Buzău, a goal was to help the party in the sense that to restart and PSD because at this moment it does not deliver anything, it still delivers distrust and this is also seen in polls ”Toma stressed.

Constantin Toma has criticized the PSD management in recent months, after Marcel Ciolacu has lost the presidential elections.

For example, these days, the mayor of Buzău municipality has been unleashed to the PSD interim president, Sorin Grindeanu, declaring that the party cannot be reform with him.
