Universitatea Craiova will end the regular season of the Superliga in first place, regardless of the other results from this stage and the last round, after defeating Metaloglobus with a score of 2-1, today, in front of their own supporters.
The bottom ranked team surprisingly managed to open the scoring in Bănie, through Florin Purece, in the 3rd minute. The University, which played its weakest games this season, managed to equalize after the break, through the defender Adrian Rus (49), and the victory was brought by the Bosnian Omar Pasagic’s own goal (80), after Nicuşor Bancu’s cross.
Metaloglobus confused the Oltenians in the tour
Metaloglobus was close to upsetting Craiova University again, after the two teams ended in a tie, 0-0, in the round. The Bucharest team has lost ten consecutive games, while the Olt team has four wins and a draw in the last five stages.
Thus, the Craiova finish the regular season in the Superliga on the first position of the ranking, having 7 points ahead of Dinamo and Rapid, teams that have played one match less each. In the last round, the University will play the derby with the Giulești side on Saturday, and during the week they will face CFR Cluj, in the quarterfinals of the Romanian Cup.
