Journalist Cristian Tudor Popescu published on Thursday, March 5, a text in which he commented on several topics, including the increase in fuel prices, the trip of President Nicușor Dan to Warsaw and the discussions regarding French nuclear protection, but also the situation of Romanians stuck in the Arab Emirates.
CTP spoke, in the first part of the text, about the increase in fuel prices, asking “when individuals will appear with blankets and plastic bags, as happened in 2022, after the attack on Ukraine, to fill with “cheap” petrol or diesel”.
“Fuel prices are going up every day, even by 15 pennies. I wonder when people will show up with blankets and plastic bags, like they did in 2022, after the invasion of Ukraine, to fill with ‘cheap’ petrol or diesel. A brilliant solution. However, there are others.
For example, let’s go by metro, bus, tram. We have considerable chances to reach our destination faster, given the traffic in big cities, sometimes slower and more fragmented than the stock exchanges since 1900. Not to mention that pollution will decrease, which is the main factor in poisoning citizens.
Even walking can be more advantageous… Last but not least, giving up your car temporarily is a good way to save”stated CTP.
CTP, about Nicușor Dan’s move to Warsaw: “So what was transported?”
Later, CTP criticized the trip of President Nicușor Dan to Warsaw and the discussions related to French nuclear protection. The President of Romania met on Thursday, March 5, with his Polish counterpart, Karol Nawrocki.
“Why was she transported to Warsaw now? (Not to mention Ms. Țoiu in Warsaw, who, when asked what she was going there for, answered that the president decides, but she won’t be the Minister of Foreign Affairs…).
To ensure that Poland accepts components of the French nuclear reaction mechanism on the territory? And hope they will defend us too? But neither President Nawrocky nor Prime Minister Tusk decide that. The command buttons, President Macron announced a long time ago, remain in France”the journalist said.
Next, CTP criticizes the caution of the Romanian authorities towards the USA and Russia and says that Romania should clarify its position regarding France’s nuclear protection offer. He also criticizes the style of postponing decisions, which he attributes to President Nicușor Dan, ironically comparing him to the character Trahanache in Caragiale.
“”Let’s not irritate Trump and the Russians” – from the thoughts of the savior, not of Romania, but of Salvador, the Minister of Defense, Miruță. What would bother Trump, since God’s anointed to make wars has told Europe so many times to defend itself? And the Kremlin needs additional reasons to attack Romania?!
We are a NATO country, with the Deveselu shield on the territory, which has annoyed Putin for many years. Romania, compared to neighbors like Hungary, Bulgaria or Serbia, has the worst relations with Russia, which has repeatedly threatened to hit us, either with conventional or nuclear weapons. By way of consequence, “French Defense” is Basque.
Who say, what would spoil the offer sent to us by France? Or at least a clear position after we’ve had a year to analyze Macron’s new nuclear doctrine? The worst “strategy” is the Trahanache style, traditionally practiced by President Dan: “Have a little patience…”, said CTP.
“I’ve seen countless talk shows of themselves with money, stranded on holiday in the Emirates”
Last but not least, CTP criticizes the Romanians with money who complained that the state did not pay for their return from the United Arab Emirates after the flight was blocked. He pokes fun at this attitude and wonders how those same people will react to “tough, but necessary, measures to restore Romania’s finances”.
“I’ve seen countless talk shows of themselves with money, stranded on holiday in the Emirates, especially in the big gable Dubai, who snidely inform us that they paid for their return to the country because the government did not give them any saint.
They did not document to see that no state bore these costs, including the savvy USA, France, Germany, Great Britain. The Dubaiites did not think about bitter Romania, currently without a budget and immersed in austerity. They want, also under the sign of Caragiale, “to give them the state”.
I just wonder: once they return to their homeland, how do they react to the tough, but necessary, measures to restore Romania’s finances?”, CTP said.
