“The solution? Merger of ELCEN with RADET. In addition, increasing the pace of changing pipes and changing technology, because it is not enough to just replace pipes! There are other technical ways to do this work.” he declared on Antena 1’s Observator 19 show, emphasizing that the problems of the heating system cannot be solved only through specific interventions, but through a structural reform.
Bucharest City Hall recently announced the contracting of a new loan of 100 million lei from the Treasury, to pay the outstanding heating bills. The announcement was made by interim mayor Stelian Bujduveanu, in November.
The measure is possible after, at the beginning of November, the Ministry of Finance allowed local authorities to apply for such loans until December 31, 2025, to finance heating services and continue investments in local infrastructure.
The Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, stated that an additional ceiling of 250 million lei was introduced, intended exclusively for the payment of outstanding bills from the heating systems and covering the losses from the supply of the heating agent.
