The lifeless body of the former player was led from the Dinamo Museum, from the yard of the sports complex, the funeral procession following a lap of the field and then later heading to the chapel.

The procession was preceded by a group of juniors from the CS Dinamo football team, who carried the funeral wreaths brought by the acquaintances of the missing man.

The Dinamo team gallery hung several banners with messages in Multescu’s memory on the fences surrounding the playing field: “You left us a void in our hearts, Gigi Mulţescu, you will not be forgotten!“, “Wandering too much, Mulţescu, always a dog on duty“, “When it’s hard, everyone disappears, Gigi Multescu, you were our salvation” and “Another artist from football that I loved is leaving, goodbye Gigi, perfect dog“.

The event was attended by both relatives of the former football player and Dynamo coach, as well as former colleagues and leaders of the team.

It is a very big loss for the entire Romanian football. He was a colleague, a friend, for me, we were also opponents so many times. A special man. The big problem is that he also took care of him, because we, the vast majority, don’t really take care of ourselves, and look what a misfortune. He was a man who sacrificed himself for Dinamo. In ’83, when I came to Dinamo, he was the captain of the team, the year before it was Cornel Dinu, who had become second coach. It is very important to be well received in a locker room when you are at the beginning, as Mircea Rednic and I were, and he took care, talked to you, he was an extremely intelligent boy. He was one of the legends of this club, that’s for sure“, said his former colleague Ioan Andone, according to Agerpres.

The former player Florentin Petre had Gheorghe Multescu as a coach and said that he will always keep his respect and gratitude: “A great sadness because he was a legend, an extraordinarily good character. He is an example, because every time the club needed him he was almost all the time. These people must be commemorated so that their memory is eternal in our souls. He was loved, he was an extraordinarily good footballer, he made history for this club. He always came to Dinamo with his soul, he didn’t look at the money, he was present all the time when it was more difficult. For that he will have all my respect and gratitude, for life“.

Multescu, who evolved as a midfielder, started his career at Steaua, after which he played for Jiul Petroşani, Dinamo Bucharest, and at the end of his career he moved to Autobuzul Bucharest, UTA Arad, Rapid Bucharest and Poiana Câmpina, where he former player-coach.
