Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic (world number 2) qualified for the men’s singles final at the Paris Olympics after defeating Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti (world number 16) 6-4, 6-2 on Friday in Roland Garros, reports Agerpres.

On Sunday, from 15.00, the 37-year-old Serb will face the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz (world number 3), who recently defeated him in the Grand Slam final at Wimbledon, in the gold match. Novak Djokovic, who was worried about the condition of his right knee, operated on in June, did not seem to suffer in front of Musetti, whom he defeated in the semifinals and at Wimbledon.

For the Serbian champion, it is the first Olympic final in five editions in which he participated. The record holder of Grand Slam titles (24), the Serbian managed to add bronze to his record at the Olympic Games in Beijing, in 2008, after losing the semi-final with the Spanish Rafael Nadal.
In the first semifinal of the 2024 Olympic Games, Alcaraz outclassed Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-1, 6-1. Today, Musetti and Auger-Aliassime will face off in the bronze medal match.
