Certain drugs can have psychoactive effects, which can give positive DrugTest results.

Doctors sound the alarm and say that there are antiallergic drugs that can give false positive results for amphetamines.

“We are in the midst of ragweed season and many Romanians will take anti-allergic drugs to treat themselves. What you need to know is that these anti-allergy drugs can give a false positive result for amphetamine in a possible drug test“, stated in a post on Facebook the doctor Cristian Paparău.

The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rafila, stated that the list of substances that affect the driving of a vehicle will be updated and finalized by September. Practically, from autumn, drivers will know which drugs to avoid in order to keep their licenses in their pockets.

The Ministry of Health recommends that drivers read the leaflet of all the medicines they administer very carefully.

“We inform you that in the packaging of all medicines there is a leaflet, a document containing information for patients regarding the possible effects on the ability to drive vehicles or use machines. The Ministry of Health recommends that before taking a medicine, you should inform yourself by reading its leaflet, and if you have any doubts, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist”.
