Dominic Fritz spoke about the difficulties in the coalition related to the reform of the local administration. “The good news is that all the coalition members agree with the reduction of the number of budgets from the local and central administration. At the same time there are many ideas on how these discounts will be applied because there are different situations”, Declared the LIVE USR leader at Digi24.
Asked about the information that the PSD would insist on a 25% reduction in administration positions, while Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan proposes 45%, Fritz explained that the situation is not uniform.
“Indeed, there are very different ideas, because there are also very different situations. They are the mayors who are oversized, but also the under-dimensions. It is important that, after these measures, quality public services remain.”said the USR leader.
He added that he supports a more ambitious variant: “I personally would go rather with a strong version, even if to me in this Timisoara would mean a discount of posts. I even started, we have now put in transparency a 10% discount on actually occupied positions and we are ready to go even further ”.
Support for Ilie Bolojan
Fritz has acknowledged that discounts can create functional problems, which is why detailed analyzes are needed. However, he declared his support for the prime minister:
“We support it without just and perhaps the prime minister of Romania, Bolojan, in this reduction fight, this weight loss of the local and central administration.”
Asked if he agrees with the 45% percentage proposed by Ilie Bolojan, Fritz has tuned: “I think rather, around 40 would be reasonable. Anyway We are also talking about vacancies, not just actually occupied. If we are talking about an average of 15-20% of actually busy positions that will be abolished, this average means that there will be more affected mayors, and we must analyze what this means for the quality of public services”.
