“The USR proposal for the prime minister is still Ilie Bolojan. We do not believe that, now, a technocrat prime minister is what is needed and this is the meaning in which I discuss the negotiations”, said USR president in a press conference.

According to the new USR head, the parties fail to reach a consensus due to the opinion differences between PSD and PNL:

“First of all, it is not something that we should worry about, the fact that some negotiations for a government last 3 weeks, especially because it is obvious that here are some partners at the table that, yes, have different visions, have a different history, it is not a government where it is of course. There is no consensus. Stable democrats and I think we have to have a stable government.

The fact that there is still no final understanding is on the one hand on the program side, of concrete measures where we have to define details and where we as USR we say very clearly: we will not agree that the whole burden of this deficit be carried by the private sector and by the Romanians who work with tax increases, but first of all the Romanian state. This is somehow the first reason why there is still no consensus and, indeed, the second reason is that between PSD and PNL there are different visions about who to be the prime minister and what the conditions for this prime minister be. We, once again, say very clearly Ilie Bolojan as a prime minister. He is the right person for these veins. “

According to him, a prime minister is needed “He assumes politically the heavy measures to be taken, which assumes the struggle with the interests inside the state, which will not applaud when we will start to cut from expenses and that is why it can only be a prime minister, credibility through our own results, if we now find only a notary of the parties and somehow we need to generate the youngest, to make these difficult cuts. ”

Dominic Fritz has won the internal elections of the USR in the first round. The result will be validated in a congress at the end of the month. The new president of the Union Save Romania (USR), Dominic Fritz, was elected with 67% of the votes expressed. 10,914 members voted, representing 57.15%.
