The revelations were made at Realitatea Plus. Cocoș exposed the operation mode of the network formed by influential generals, mentioning the names of Florian Coldea, former first deputy of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI), and Dumitru Dumbravă, known for his involvement in various controversial affairs.
According to Cocoș, these generals would have been at the buttons when “combinations and arrangements” in various areas of the state, from justice to business and politics.
“I may have deserved what happened to me, but my son and Elena (no: Udrea) did not. I deserved it because I trusted them. I told them how the money was given, how everything was done. I met Coldea at Neptun, when the president invited him. You with your wife, me with Elena. It seemed to me at first that he was decent, firm.
From 2008-2009 I became friends with them. I only called George, never Florin. We started talking about business. I went with an open mind, they are the president's people, he had appointed them. I told them certain things that were happening in the market, I had also created a businessmen's club“, said Dorin Cocoș, on the show Culisele Statului Paralel from Realitatea PLUS.
Asked if he ever gave money to Coldea, Cocoș said no, but gave him gifts on different occasions. Asked how much the gifts were, the businessman close to former president Traian Băsescu said they started at 2,000 euros. Among other things, he gave Coldea's wife an expensive bag.
Cocoș also stated that he would have sent a Channel bag to Laura Codruța Kovesi, via Coldea. But he does not know if this gift reached the head of DNA at the time.
Asked when the parallel state started, he stated that it also existed in 1990.
“And in the 90s there was a parallel state. It was never a single power. All the time there were groups, groups. I had friendly relations with many, but with no one like I had with Florin. I believed more in Mr. Băsescu than in Mr. Năstase. When you get to power, you feel like you can do anything, and from an admirable man, you become a semi-tyrant. Everyone tells you how beautiful you are” said Rooster.
